Line Cook
Filé Gumbo Bar™ is inspired by the iconic ingredient used to thicken and flavor our gumbo. Filé, pronounced fee-lay, means thread or string in French, and refers to the dried and ground leaves of the North American sassafras tree.
The centerpiece of our menu is Tiny’s Gumbo™, inspired by the owner’s grandfather, Aubrey “Tiny” Gaines (who was anything but). Tiny had a larger-than-life presence, and believed there was nothing better than shellfish and spice.

Line cook is guest facing in an open kitchen, so applicants must be comfortable interacting with guests respectfully and professionally. In addition to a strong culinary foundation, the applicant must have: full time availability, a strong work ethic, and a deeply ingrained sense of urgency & attention to detail. The ideal candidates will have strong qualities English speaking skills, and be able to develop a strong sense of camaraderie within the small team. C andidates must have NYC Food Protection Card.
