Quantitative Researcher

Brevan Howard US Investment Management, LP is seeking a Quantitative Researcher in New York, NY to research, design, and validate systematic and discretionary investment signals to support portfolio construction and risk management. Partner with Portfolio Managers and Risk teams to translate research insights into actionable strategies within defined risk budgets. Develop and enhance portfolio models, including scenario analysis, stress testing, factor attribution, and signal diagnostics. Build and maintain analytics and visualization tools that improve transparency and usability of investment insights. Work with large, complex, and sometimes unstructured datasets to extract actionable patterns and insights. Collaborate with technology teams to ensure research workflows and tools are scalable, robust, and production-ready. Contribute to the ongoing development of the research infrastructure, streamlining data pipelines, backtesting frameworks, and reporting capabilities. Stay abreast of academic and industry research, assessing potential relevance and application to the firms investment process. Must have a Masters Degree, or foreign equivalent, in Financial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field. Must have 2 years of experience as a Quantitative Analyst, Quantitative Associate, Quantitative Strategist, or related quantitative research role. The 2 years of experience must include experience with:1. Applying statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and time-series analysis in a professional or academic setting. 2. Designing, testing, and implementing quantitative investment or forecasting models within defined risk parameters. 3. Programming in Python and one or more additional languages such as C++, Java, R, or MATLAB. 4. Working with large datasets, including experience using SQL and handling alternative or high-frequency data sources. 5. Developing scalable research, analytical, or data-processing tools for internal or professional use. 6. Portfolio construction concepts, risk modeling techniques, and performance attribution processes. 7. Presenting technical or analytical findings to internal stakeholders or multidisciplinary teams.
