The Role
We are seeking a Lead Line Cook to join our team. This role is responsible not only for executing dishes at a high level, but also for supporting kitchen leadership, maintaining standards, and helping guide the line during service.

Candidates must be available to work weekends. While strong culinary skills are essential, we value leadership, accountability, and the ability to elevate the team.

Responsibilities
Lead a station during service, ensuring consistency, speed, and quality at all timesSet up, organize, and maintain station readiness for servicePrepare ingredients and execute dishes according to Nowon recipes and standardsCook proteins (including seafood and meats) using grilling, frying, sautéing, and other techniquesSupport training and development of junior cooks and new hiresCommunicate clearly with the kitchen team to maintain flow and resolve issues during serviceUphold cleanliness, organization, and food safety standards, including proper storage and labelingAssist with inventory management, prep planning, and waste controlHelp enforce kitchen systems, procedures, and accountability across the team

Qualifications
2+ years of NYC line cook experience preferred, with leadership or lead line experience a plusStrong understanding of kitchen operations, station management, and service flowWeekend availability requiredAbility to lead by example in both performance and attitudeStrong communication, organization, and sense of urgencyDetail-oriented with high standards for execution and cleanlinessTeam-oriented mindset with a willingness to teach and support others
