Director, Engineering Team Lead
Fitch Group is seeking a Director, Engineering Team Lead , to be based in our New York City office.
This role will oversee the technical squad responsible for the development and deployment of the Financial Document Repository (FDR)—a business-critical suite of applications that enables the ingestion, transformation, and distribution of financial data and documents across all Fitch global businesses.

How You’ll Make an Impact:
- In partnership with the Fitch Data Operations team, define and deliver the ‘FDR automation roadmap leveraging AI/ML’ to satisfy the current growing needs of our businesses and support functions for high quality financial documents & data
- Automation both in how we deliver FDR technology to the business (e.g. automating our QA function) but also enabling our business users modern capabilities to process financial documents and better measurably better than they can today
- Mentor and develop technical team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment that evidence ‘continuous improvements’ end-to-end across document processing workflows.
- Lock-step collaboration with FDR Product Owners to help plan, prioritize, estimate and manage all delivery related to document & data processing here within Fitch
- Act as a liaison between the FDR technical team and all Data & Technology partners / support functions – both internal and vendor management.
You May be a Good Fit if:
- Proven experience (3-5+ years) in leading and managing software engineering teams, preferably in financial services and leveraging Agile methodologies
- Able to provide technical guidance and leadership to the team. o Guide, review and approve architectural designs, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with system design & delivering technology solutions and tools for document & data ingestion, processing, and distribution using either 3rd party solutions (e.g. Cognaise, Mobius) or proprietary development
- Strong understanding of modern software development tools & principles on cloud platforms (AWS preferred), programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), and data architecture
- Track record of modernizing legacy systems (C++, Swing, SOAP) and Testing Automation strongly preferred
- Strong track record of evaluating and implementing new technologies and methodologies to enhance efficiency

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $190,000 and $205,000 per year. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch’s total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
