Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Behavioral Health
Location: Syracuse, NY 13210
Assignment Duration: 26 Weeks
Schedule: Night Shift – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 Hours
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (post-training)
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a background in Behavioral Health to join a psychiatric care team in Syracuse, NY. This role involves delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a structured clinical environment while supporting individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer medications, injections, IV therapies, and tube feedings
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and behavioral changes
- Collect blood samples and other diagnostic specimens
- Provide wound care and apply appropriate dressings
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and mobility
- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
- Supervise and delegate tasks to LPNs and support staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care planning
- Coordinate with external providers to ensure continuity of care
- Support discharge planning and patient advocacy efforts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – State of New York
- Minimum of 1 year of psychiatric or behavioral health nursing experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
