Head Instructor

Head Instructor and School Manager:

The NY Kite Center located in Amityville, NY currently has an excellent opportunity for a Head Instructor position . The ideal candidate will have extensive Kiteboarding knowledge as well as managerial or supervisor experience. Below is a list of job responsibilities and requirements for this position. Responsibilities:You will be responsible for Managing and maintaining all activities related to the NYKC School Dept. This includes but is not limited to the items listed below:

• Responsible for the recruiting, training, supervising, and scheduling of all NYKC Instructors
• Responsible for all lesson preparation including but not limited to; hauling, fueling, and assigning appropriate equipment
• Create, Execute, and Oversee all On-Water activities at NYKC on a daily basis
• Work with Operations Dept. to coordinate all student scheduling
• Maintain and ensure accuracy of all NYKC school gear inventory
• Responsible for facilitating kite inspections. repairs, warranties.
• Ensure Instructors are performing their duties according to NYKC Instructor Policy
• Responsible for reporting any issues with NYKC school gear, Jet-Ski’s, or Boats and work with Operations Dept. to update Equipment Maintenance Log
• Responsible for overseeing and ensuring all IKO practices and standards are being obtained
• Will oversee and assist with any NYKC hosted IKO events
• Maintain and update Instructor log
• Taking photos and videos of lessons and riding for social media posts

Requirements:

• Eligible to work in the US
• Documented Kiteboard Instructing experience
• Managerial or Supervising experience
• Reliable Transportation
• Basic Computer Skills, Email, MS Word, MS Excel, Google Documents, Soical Media

Certifications and/or Licenses:

• IKO Certification (Level 2 preferred)
• USCG Captain’s License (preferred, but not required)

Compensation:This will consist of a commission and hourly compensation package that will be discussed in detail during interview process.
