Executive Director, PeaceWorks on Campus

PeaceWorks Foundation

(Full-time, Remote, United States)

PeaceWorks on Campus is designed to ensure that the next generation of American policymakers and thought leaders—particularly those destined for roles in Washington, D.C.—is committed to advancing peace between Israelis and Palestinians. In a campus environment increasingly characterized by polarization and hostile rhetoric, the program strategically intervenes to educate, inspire, and equip future policy influencers with a nuanced understanding of peacebuilding. The program does so by bringing pairs of Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders to American universities to talk about their work on the ground and vision for a path forward. In the program’s inaugural year (2024-2025), the team visited 26 campuses, interacted with over 130 faculty members, and reached 1,200 students through 56 unique events, which included classroom visits, large department-sponsored forums, and engagements organized by students for their leadership groups.

PeaceWorks is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Executive Director to lead its PeaceWorks on Campus program. This role requires a leader with the strategic insight to chart a path for program growth, coupled with the operational expertise to manage day-to-day activities effectively. This is a unique opportunity for a smart, entrepreneurial individual who is eager to build on the program’s inaugural year, scaling its impact and positively shaping the dialogue on university campuses nationwide. The Executive Director will report to the PeaceWorks Foundation Board of Directors and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program, including strategy, operations, and fundraising. They will lead a small, resourceful team and collaborate with consultants, with the potential opportunity to grow the team in the future.

The Executive Director will be responsible for:

Program Strategy, Planning, and Execution:

● Audit the PeaceWorks on Campus program during fall 2025, and then develop, and present short, medium, and long-term strategy for deeper impact to the Board of Directors – to be implemented beginning spring 2026.

● Explore and pilot new programmatic ideas including a Faculty Council, the expansion of the Emerging Leaders Council, and student microgrants.

● Set key metrics for success and regularly report on activity to the PeaceWorks Foundation Board.

Partnership Development and Management:

● Develop and maintain relationships with key faculty stakeholders on campuses across the country, keeping the board apprised of PeaceWorks on Campus’ progress. ● Partner with the Chief Field Officer to manage the PeaceWorks on Campus Speakers Bureau of Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders.

● Partner with the Chief Field Officer to manage key relationships with partners in the Middle East.

Fundraising and Communications:

● Develop and implement a fundraising strategy for the program.

● Identify and cultivate donors for the PeaceWorks on Campus program, increasing and diversifying the program’s funding streams.

● Lead the preparation of fundraising materials for the PeaceWorks on Campus program. ● Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence to external relations– partnering with external communications partners as needed.

Operations:

● Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other stakeholders.

● Manage and track the PeaceWorks on Campus budget, ensuring all activities fall within the allotted budget.

● Oversee and manage the full PeaceWorks on Campus team, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to fulfill their roles.

● Build and maintain relationships with the board of directors.
