HireNow Staffing is representing a groundbreaking early-stage startup that's on a mission to redefine how the tax profession engages with data, documents, and compliance. Their core product a machine learning platform engineered specifically for accountants is already turning heads at leading firms for its ability to intelligently extract, interpret, and act on complex tax documents.

As the Head of Tax , you won't just be a subject matter expert you'll be the driving force behind how real-world tax logic gets translated into intelligent, scalable software. This is a hybrid role blending product advisory, AI model refinement, customer-facing feedback loops, and technical tax consulting all in one.

What You'll Own:

• Tax Expertise at the Core: Serve as the in-house authority on pass-through entity taxation, especially K-1s, K-3s, and multi-jurisdiction filings.

• Guide Product Evolution: Work directly with engineering and product teams to shape user flows, develop new capabilities, and ensure tax logic is interpreted accurately by the platform.

• Enhance Machine Learning Models: Help annotate and analyze real tax documents to increase AI accuracy and performance.

• Bridge the Gap to Customers: Work with early users and pilot partners to identify blind spots, clarify use cases, and inform product iteration.

• Research and Readiness: Stay ahead of evolving tax rules and ensure platform updates align with regulatory shifts.

• Help Lead the Vision: Shape the roadmap for automating additional tax forms and workflows as the product expands beyond entity returns.

What We're Looking For:

• Active CPA license with 2-6 years of experience in public accounting, preferably with advisory or partnership-focused clients.

• Experience working directly with complex tax returns including multi-tier partnerships and multi-state filings.

• Hands-on knowledge of tools such as CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, GoSystem, SurePrep, AutoFlow, SafeSend, or K1x .

• Proficiency with Excel ; comfort with structured data (like JSON ) is a plus.

• A self-starter with sharp problem-solving instincts and an appetite for building and scaling something new.

• Interest or experience in startups , tax automation tools, or emerging technologies.
