Job Title: Janitor Department: Millwrights
Reports to: Facilities Manager
Job Summary:
The Janitorial Staff will clean and maintain all areas of the company’s facilities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in all areas of the facility as assigned.
- Ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are organized and stocked.
- Sweeps, vacuums, waxes, and mops the floors.
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms.
- Empties trash and recycling.
- Washes windows, inside and outside.
- Makes sure the facility is clean and meets all safety requirements.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine cleaning and maintenance.
- Ability to keep the facility clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with various employees and visitors while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
- Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment.
- Ability to work independently.
- Understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to keep an organized record of cleaning supply inventory.
- Problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing.
Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
