Job Title: Seasonal Merchandising Associate
Reports To: The Seasonal Merchandising Associate will report to the Client Services Supervisor, Client Services Manager, or equivalent leadership.
Typical hours: Mondays-Fridays, Weekends if needed (25 hours/week)
Job Overview:
This Merchandising Associate position is responsible for facilitating and processing merchandise sales within the Rockefeller Center Observation Deck souvenir gift shops.
Overall, this position continuously offers the highest level of service to all client and SPS employees while maintaining a professional image of the company by providing prompt, courteous and efficient service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Check-in with Site Supervisor or Supports Supervisors.
- Collect the daily task sheet from the support Supervisors, which will outline specific merchandising tasks.
- Remove any overstocked merchandise from racks or shelves, ensuring that display shelves are not stocked with selling items.
- Face, fold, size, and label all items in the shops to maintain a neat and organized appearance.
- Utilize the daily task sheet to note any additional requirements or comments for each shop.
- Oversee the placement and maintenance of promotional signage in the gift shop.
- Rotate displays regularly to reflect seasonal changes and promotions.
- Dust and change displays periodically to keep them fresh and visually appealing.
- If additional merchandise is needed, promptly communicate with support staff to have the items brought up and stored in the designated area.
- At the end of each shift, return the completed daily task sheet to the receptionist's folder.

- PC skills MS Office Suite experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good organizational skills.
- Requires knowledge and understanding of technological ordering systems and ability to comprehend instructions.
- Possesses ability to work independently and capable of completing projects.
- Adaptable and flexible to needs at a moment's notice.

- Prior experience in merchandising or retail is a plus.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
- 1-2+ years prior work experience preferred.
- Ability to work assigned work hours determined by manager.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
- Superb written and verbal English communication skills.
- Current knowledge or ability to learn computer-based systems required for functions of position.
- Required to maintain an overall professional appearance and attitude.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures required.
Physical Demands:
- Fine and/or gross motor skills, including the ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart with a load capacity of 60 lbs.
- Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time.
- Manual dexterity required for operating office machinery (phone, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.).
- Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater frequently.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to utilize computer monitor and keyboard.
