Food and Beverage Server

Historic Hudson Valley (HHV) is a Westchester-based cultural non-profit that welcomes visitors to four National Historic Landmarks and presents public tours, school programs, and seasonal festivals for audiences that include families seeking weekend leisure activities; K-12 teachers meeting curricular objectives and their students; and a diverse array of heritage tourists. HHV has a national reputation for groundbreaking on-site interpretation and award-winning digital content, particularly in the content areas of Northern slavery, regional women’s history, and storytelling.

HHV is seeking an experienced Food and Beverage Server for The Great Jack O’Lantern Blaze. Should have minimum two-years’ experience of customer service and one year of food and beverage service. The Food and Beverage server is tasked with ensuring every guest leaves happy. The Food and Beverage server reports to the Food and Beverage Lead.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Menu knowledge, and ability to describe all food, drink, and special menu items.
• Ability to lift boxes occasionally up to 25lbs. Should expect to exert a fast-paced mobility thought shift between 4 and 8 hours in length.
• Prepare hot beverages
• Clean and sterilize kitchen utensils, dishes, equipment, and facilities
• May be required to perform other related duties, as assigned.

• Availability to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous

Solid communication, and interpersonal skills

• Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and the ability to work with a POS system
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Strict adherence to company philosophy and company standards
• Must be Servsafe certified

This is a part-time seasonal position, evening and weekend hours at special events are required.

Pay rate is $25/hr
