- ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Able to work weekends and evenings as needed
- Ma i nt ain cleanliness i n assigned areas within the facility . This includes but is not limited to : floor care (mopping, s weep i n g , buffing , stripping and waxing), cleaning bathrooms, emptying trash, se parating r ecyclables, e mptyin g garbage, wiping windows and wall s, and cleani n g stairways .
- Ca r ry out m i nor repair s and buildin g maint ena nc e thr oug hout ass i gned areas of the faci lity .
- Re s ponsible for exterior snow and ice removal as well as upkeep of the gro und
- This includes but is not lim ited to sidewalk maintenance , ma i nt aining land scapi n g, and a ll ot her as p ects of the building exterior .
- Submit work orders as needed
- Order maintenance supplies as needed (Bell System) ordering cleaning supplies, paper supplies , lightbulbs, garbage bags , etc . and maintain i ng biweekly i nventor y .
- Assist Staff with special events by setting th e chairs and tables up for use m aki n g s ur e the area is clean and safe for all
- Maintain building ma in tenanc e tools and machinery to e n s ur e that a ll items are in g ood working cond i tion .
- A ssis t in moving and storing pr ogra m su ppl ies , office furniture, office equipment, dorm f urniture , con s ume r belong i ngs, and other i tem s i n and around the facility when and wher e appropriate .
- Comply w i th all SUS Employee Policies , Procedures and Protocols SUS Cooperate Compliance Poli cies
- Willing to a ssis t when EMERGENCIES arise i n the Facility
- Mu s t wear SUS maintenance uniform and mu s t m a intain uniform so that it is clean and pre se ntabl e at the start of eac h s hift .
- Attend s t aff meetings, g roup supe rvi s ion , a nd trainin gs as assigned and required .
- Responds to consumer needs promptly, accurately and with courtesy and respect
- Represents the organization in a positive and appropriate manner to outside resources
- Supports the mission and values of SUS and draws attention to behavior that undermines group effectiveness or is inconsistent with core values
- Additional duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in maintenance
- knowledge/experience working in the social service or related field
- Experience working within a residential / Crisis / 24 hr service setting
- Basic computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Basic knowledge of building maintenance tools and basic repairs
- Bilingual English/Spanish speaking a plus
- Basic computer skills (e.g. MS Office suite and Windows)
