Sales Representative
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to grow business throughout the Northeast, with a primary focus on the New York metropolitan area. This role is responsible for developing new business, managing existing accounts, and driving profitable growth within the industrial coatings and fireproofing market.
Compensation: Flexible structure including commission-only or base salary transitioning to commission after approximately two years.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, technical field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of outside sales experience in protective coatings, industrial coatings, or fireproofing.
- Proven success developing new business and managing customer relationships.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred
- Experience selling industrial or technical products.
- NACE or other industry certifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Grow territory sales through new business development and account management.
- Build relationships with contractors, distributors, engineers, asset owners, and key decision-makers.
- Recommend products and provide technical solutions to meet customer needs.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure responsive service and successful project execution.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and sales forecasts.
- Support product demonstrations and promote a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
