Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) – Medical Surgical (GI Overflow Unit)

Location: Rochester, New York

Duration: 13 Weeks (Contract)

Pay Rate: $28 – $33 per hour

Schedule:

• Shift: Day Shift
• Hours: 3x12-Hour Shifts
• Timing: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Total Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend (EOW)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to support a Medical Surgical GI Overflow Unit. This is a flexible 14-bed unit designed to accommodate emergency department boarder patients within a GI endoscopy environment. Patient volume may vary based on operational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg telemetry setting
• Monitor and document vital signs and blood glucose levels
• Assist with feeding tube care, including NG and G-tube management
• Perform Foley catheter insertions (male and female)
• Administer medications (IM, SQ, and oral)
• Support oxygen therapy (nasal cannula, face masks)
• Assist with patient hygiene, including bathing and oral care
• Monitor patient conditions and communicate changes to RN/MD
• Follow infection control and isolation protocols
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient transfers using SBAR communication

Required Qualifications:

• Active LPN/LVN License (required)
• BLS Certification (required)
• Minimum 1 year of experience (required)
• EPIC experience (required)
• Strong communication skills, including SBAR reporting
• Ability to float to other Med/Surg units as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in Medical-Surgical or Telemetry settings

Additional Information:

• Local candidates within 75 miles are not accepted
• Dynamic unit with variable patient volume
• Contract with potential for extension
