As a Perinatal & NICU Nurse on nights, the role reports to a Nurse Manager for Women’s and Neonatal Services with on-unit Charge Nurse support, dedicated clinical educators, and a collaborative, diverse team of friendly nurses, neonatologists, obstetricians, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, lactation consultants, case managers, and social work partners; responsibilities span direct patient care and family education, use of the nursing process across the perinatal-neonatal spectrum, respectful birthing care and trauma‑informed communication, participation in performance improvement, adherence to infection prevention and Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals, transport readiness for higher-acuity infants, and opportunities to serve as Charge Nurse as competency grows.
