Position Description:

Full-time, 12 month position. This position is an integral part of the college admissions team and is expected to provide exemplary service to our students and their families, the college, our professional colleagues, and external contacts and agencies. This individual will be responsible for interacting directly with prospective students and families regarding admissions requirements including data entry, assisting students with application process, and assistance with specialized student cohorts and applicant pools.

Essential Functions:

Primary duties:

  1. Provide customer service via email, telephone, face-to-face, and written documentation regarding the admissions process.
  2. Enter and maintain database files of student admission records.
  3. Run jobs to create admission letters, perform review of letter information, attach pertinent documents to letters, and mail letters.
  4. Communicate regularly with high school administration and officials from other colleges for day-to-day needs as well as yearly special projects.
  5. Participate in and assist with the planning and scheduling of recruitment events and initiatives such as signature events, campus tours, group visits, etc.
  6. Organize specialized applicant pools such as Nursing, OTA, Prison Education Program, and more. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with the maintenance of the application process, updating appropriate website links, communicating with applicants throughout the application and acceptance process, and collaborating with other departments on policies and procedures revolving around these applicant pools. This may also include assistance in the recruitment of students within these specialized applicant pools.
  7. Enter student applications into the Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) system for certain circumstances (ex: SUNY applications)

Supportive duties:

  1. Assist students and college colleagues with understanding and implementing college policies, procedures, and deadlines related to the functions of the admissions office. This includes assisting students with completing the application in its entirety and maintaining general knowledge of academic programs and campus availability.
  2. Perform all duties in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, and institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Required: Associates degree. Two (2) years of professional experience in a customer-oriented or educational setting. Ability to deliver outstanding customer service using written and verbal communications skills. Excellent clerical skills essential, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Teams, and multi-line phone systems. Ability to follow processes and utilize current software programs. Ability to work effectively on a team and maintain a positive attitude. Ability to perform required duties with general supervision. Ability to answer prospective as well as accepted students’ questions accurately and in detail.

Preferred: Bilingual (English and Spanish)

Additional Information:

Salary: $25.37. Excellent benefits package, including medical and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and NYS retirement.
