Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel) for a 13-week assignment in Watertown, NY. Start date: 04/27/2026. Nights shift (7:00 pm–7:00 am). Weekly pay: $2,051–$2,157. Guaranteed hours: not guaranteed. Work setting: hospital-based Med/Surg with float to PCU as needed. Travel assignment requires current NY RN license and the traveler must reside within a 100-mile radius of the assignment per program guidelines. RN must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and have Coronary Care experience. First-time traveler candidates will not be considered; at least one prior traveler assignment is preferred. - Travel assignment with coordination and support from Healthforce Healthcare LLC Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical and PCU populations, focusing on comprehensive assessment, plan of care, interventions, and evaluation
- Monitor and manage cardiac status; apply coronary care skills in appropriate patient populations
- Administer medications, manage IVs, perform basic procedures, and document observations accurately in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care, communicate plans, and educate patients and families
- Float to Med/Surg and PCU as needed, prioritizing patient safety and adapting to unit workflows
- Assume charge nurse duties when assigned, demonstrating leadership, prioritization, and delegation as appropriate
- Adhere to safety, infection prevention, and body mechanics standards; use patient lifting devices to move and transfer patients safely Requirements
- Current New York RN license (active) at time of assignment
- Coronary Care experience required
- BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire)
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Prior hospital RN experience preferred; traveler must have completed at least one successful traveler assignment
- Not a first-time traveler; willingness to work nights and 12-hour shifts, with weekend and holiday coverage as needed
