Duties Description Summary:A full-time grounds worker position working Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday days off, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM. During winter and summer months this position returns to Monday through Friday with Saturday and Sunday pass-days. Experience Cortland dives deep into the region's offerings.Major Responsibilities:- Maintain the appearance and condition of grounds by sweeping, raking, and shoveling debris.- Plant seeds, shrubs, and trees.- Cut grass, trim shrubs, and fertilize lawns.- Remove dead trees and load trucks.- Maintain roads, parking lots, walkways, and steps.- Break up concrete and asphalt and apply patch.- Maintain athletic fields.- Assist with snow removal during winter months. Comprises 80-90% of the job and hand shoveling represents a significant portion of snow removal.

Minimum Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license at time of hire.Applicant will be required to obtain a NYS commercial pesticide technician license within twelve (12) months of appointment.SPECIAL NOTE: This position is a labor class position and as such is not subject to selection on the basis of seniority.
