Teacher's Assistant for Infant Classroom
Are you a calm, friendly, responsible person who loves little ones? We are hiring! Our Teacher's Assistants work closely with trained Montessori Head Teachers to provide a caring, nurturing learning environment for toddlers age 18 months to 36 months. Assistants help children acquire skills of independence and discover their own abilities. Responsibilities include safely supervising children during inside and outside play, assisting children with activities of daily living (eating, toileting, dressing, falling asleep at nap), comforting children, reading stories, singing songs, helping to keep the classroom environment tidy, interacting with parents, and being part of a team of teachers. You must know and follow OCFS regs, so previous experience working with a toddler in a licensed child care center is required -- or previous experience working in a toddler Montessori program. If you are a patient, kind, and compassionate person who enjoys being with young children, are a good team player with adults, and are open to learning about Montessori, this is a great opportunity.
The shift is 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Qualifications: Previous experience working with toddlers (18 to 36 Months) in a licensed child care program.
