Overview:

The Principal at Court Street School is an instructional leader who creates and maintains a positive and safe environment that promotes high standards of learning. The successful candidate will be an instructional leader responsible for supervising students, faculty, and staff. The candidate will also assist in managing resources in accordance with the District's mission, goals, and policies.

Core Responsibilities:

-Lead curriculum development and instructional excellence by implementing current programs, integrating data analysis into curriculum activities aligned with standards and district goals, and ensuring effective delivery of instruction that meet all students' needs.

-Support staff development and school culture by fostering professional growth for teachers and promoting a positive school environment that enhances student engagement, achievement, well-being, and sense of belonging for all stakeholders.

-Manage operations and safety by overseeing budget, staffing, scheduling, student discipline matters with fairness and consistency, implementing security protocols and emergency response plans with agency assistance.

-Engage community and enhance school experience by communicating effectively with stakeholders, involving them in aspects of the school, and supporting special activities that contribute to a positive, comprehensive educational experience for the entire community.

Job Qualifications

-Certification and Experience: Valid New York State School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Administrator (SDL) certification with a minimum of eight years in education including teaching, supervision, and/or administration.

-Leadership and Communication: Strong relationship-building, communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to lead positive organizational change.

-Academic Leadership: Expertise in curriculum and management and development, assessment design, data utilization, and intervention strategies for both academic and social-emotional learning.

-Developmental Expertise: Strong understanding of primary age children with knowledge of developmentally appropriate and evidence-based educational practices.

Work year: Teacher instructional calendar with 20 summer workdays.
