DESCRIPTION:
Integrated Clinic:

This position is responsible for supervising and providing nursing services in the mental health clinic, as well as medical care for re-

lated conditions. The Supervising Psychiatric Nurse also coordinates the operation of nursing services with the psychiatric staff to

ensure that the client’s medical needs are evaluated and referred to the appropriate services.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER:
A. Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least a Bachelor's degree in nursing and two (2) years of experience in

professional nursing involving psychiatric clients; OR,

B. Graduation from a School of Nursing approved by the New York State Education Department from a course approved by such

department and three (3) years of experience in professional nursing involving psychiatric clients.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.

job candidates to compete in a competitive exam to be considered for employment. For the duration of the program, this title will be classified as non-competitive

and categorized as a “HELP Program” position. At the close of the program, this position will revert to competitive class status. Employees occupying positions

filled through the HELP Program will be granted competitive class status without the need to participate in a competitive exam.
