Property Accountant

- Maintain comprehensive accounting records for a diverse portfolio of real estate and property development projects.
- Manage full-cycle property accounting, including monthly closings and financial reporting.
- Collaborate closely with the management team to ensure financial accuracy and portfolio health.

responsibilities:
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform daily AP functions and ensure proper controls are in place, insurance, lien waivers, etc.
- Do monthly bank reconciliations for operating and security deposit accounts.
- Work as part of the team to prepare annual budgets enabling coding of invoices during the year.
- Prepare and maintain monthly recurring journal entry schedules for prepaid insurance and prepaid real estate taxes.
- Assist with monthly budget variance reports to identify deviations and perform analysis where needed.
- Prepare billings to tenants for CAM and RE Tax recoveries.
- Prepare reserve requests as required from lender accounts.
- Performs other related duties as assigned such as ad hoc reporting, cash flow projections, assist with lender and partnership reporting, annual 1099 generation, etc..
- Reconcile escrow balances on monthly mortgage statements.

Requirements:
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and financial data analysis.
- Strong computer software skills to record, store and analyze financial data. Yardi Voyager knowledge or experience with other high level accounting software a plus.
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and accounting controls.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years accounting experience required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.
- Boutique office requires team player spirit!
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and business partnering skills.
- Demonstrate the ability and motivation to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Proven analytical, critical thinking and project management skills.
- Ability to prioritize assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and growth-oriented environment.
- Solid attention to detail and ability to be a problem solver.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and in a close-knit team environment.
