Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze patient medical records and information for Medicaid billing accuracy
- Assign appropriate Medicaid billing codes to diagnoses and procedures
- Enter billing information into the system and generate Medicaid claims
- Verify Medicaid coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for medical services
- Follow up on unpaid Medicaid claims, resolve discrepancies, and handle denials
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure proper documentation and coding practices
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing any Medicaid billing inquiries or concerns
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Medicaid billing or coding is required
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, Medicaid coding systems, and billing procedures
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
- Familiarity with Medicaid collection processes and insurance claim submission
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve Medicaid billing issues
- Effective communication skills to interact with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
