CDL School Bus/Van Drivers
CRT, Inc. is seeking dedicated School Bus and Van Drivers to join our team in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. SIGN ON BONUS - $5,000 FOR Already Licensed CDL BUS DRIVERS CDL BPS and Already Licensed CDL VAN DRIVERS CDL CPSDrivers starting salary for CDL BPS is $31.68 and CDL CPS is $28.91 and Driver Assistant is $20.91. *non benefit rates
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a school bus or van along assigned routes to transport students to and from school and field trips.
- Monitor and ensure the safety and appropriate behavior of students and other passengers during transit.
- Assist students and passengers with safe loading and unloading, including during emergencies.
- Reinforce established guidelines for passenger conduct to maintain a safe environment.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff as needed.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure vehicle safety and cleanliness.
Qualifications
- CDL Class BPS or CPS license preferred (paid training available for qualified candidates to obtain CDL license).
- Commitment to safety and professionalism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week; additional hours may be available.
- Willingness to work in-person at one of our Rockland County locations.
Compensation
Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. Pay raises are expected in September/October. Sign-on bonuses available for already licensed drivers: $1,500 for CDL Bus Drivers (BPS) and $1,200 for CDL Van Drivers (CPS).
