Emergency room registered nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Location: Rochester, NY 14626

Assignment Duration: 13 Weeks

Shift: 3x12-Hour Nights (19:00 – 07:00)

Block Scheduling: Not Guaranteed

Orientation: 16 Hours (Non-Billable)

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse to join our team for a 13-week travel assignment. The ideal candidate will be confident in handling a broad range of emergency cases, with the ability to adapt to varying acuity levels and work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 1 year recent ER experience

• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS (all required)

• License: Active NY RN license (no pending licenses accepted)

• First-Time Travelers Accepted: Yes

• RTO Restrictions: Minimal time off preferred

Unit Details:

• Patient Ratio: 1:5 (mixed/shared acuity levels)

• Float Requirement: Yes – as needed based on census

• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

• Charting System: Epic (preferred)

• Scrub Colors: Any combination of navy and white

Required Skills:

• General Emergency Department (Adult & Pediatric)

• Dysrhythmia interpretation and management

• Management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure

• Blood product administration

• Central line care and management

• Phlebotomy and IV initiation

• Continuous IV paralytics and sedation

• Emergency medication administration

• IV vasopressors and procedural sedation

• Stroke (CVA) management

• Isolation precautions

Additional Information:

• Facility will attempt to accommodate block scheduling but cannot guarantee it.

• Strong preference for candidates with prior Epic charting experience.
