Accounts Payable Administrator
Description
AMDA College of the Performing Arts, with campuses in New York City and Hollywood, is one of the foremost post-secondary performing arts colleges in the country. AMDA offers various pathways for students to receive unparalleled performing arts education taught by world-class industry professionals, including Professional Conservatory Certificates as well as undergraduate and graduate degrees (Bachelor of Fine Arts, Bachelor of Arts, Associate of Occupational Studies, Master of Fine Arts and Master of Arts).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Process all accounts payable transactions including invoices, payments, and employee expense reports.
- Ensure accurate coding, approval, and timely processing of all invoices and reimbursements.
- Verify and reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions and supporting documentation.
- Monitor payment schedules and ensure compliance with payment terms and institutional guidelines.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to address payment status, inquiries, and issues.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparation of reports and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with institutional policies, vendor contracts, and applicable accounting standards.
- Collaborate with purchasing and other departments to streamline financial processes and promote efficiency.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required, associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to interact professionally with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
- This role may require physical activities such as lifting, bending, or extended periods of sitting/standing.
- May also require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as applicable.
Position Information:
- The regular schedule for this role is 9:00am-6:00pm. This is subject to change based on department needs.
- The pay range for this position is $25 - $27.
- This position is subject to a background check upon a conditional offer of employment and a reference check.
- This is a hybrid role for 3 days in office. During the first 60 days training will be onsite 5 days a week.
