Continuing Care Coordinator, Health Economics and Finance

Job Summary

The Continuing Care Coordinator will be responsible for analyzing various New York State long-term care trends and policy issues to support GNYHA’s advocacy on behalf of its continuing care members. In addition, the Coordinator will support staff working on GNYHA’s Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Independent Provider Association (IPA) that will create a clinically integrated network of not-for-profit SNFs in downstate New York.

Reporting to the Vice President, Health Economics and Finance, State Policy, the Coordinator will work with colleagues across GNYHA to support coordination on issues impacting GNYHA continuing care members. The Coordinator will shape and support our policy positions on emerging State and Federal issues, develop and coordinate member meeting materials, and create member-facing resources to communicate our positions to members.

This role requires strong analytical, project management, and communication skills to effectively manage, summarize, and convey GNYHA messaging to members and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• GNYHA

  • Analyze proposed and implemented Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations that impact the continuing care membership

  • Communicate with key stakeholders within New York State Department of Health (DOH) to understand the key legislative and regulatory issues, including nursing home reimbursement issues, affecting continuing care members

  • Develop member communications that summarize significant nursing home policy changes

  • Build strong working relationships with GNYHA colleagues across various departments and continuing care members

• GNYHA SNF IPA

  • Assist with ongoing activities related to the development of a clinically integrated network of not-for-profit skilled nursing facilities

  • Research governance and regulatory policies to ensure compliance with recent Federal and State policy changes

  • Collect and organize data that supports the IPA’s financial reporting and modeling

  • Coordinate meeting materials for IPA working groups and committees

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, public policy, public health, public administration, or a related field

• At least 3 years of work experience in a project manager or coordinator role

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Experience preparing and delivering presentations, memoranda, and other written materials to various audiences

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Strong track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships with organizational leadership

• Ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree

• At least 2 years of healthcare experience, including work with nursing homes

• Aptitude for quantitative analysis and experience analyzing data using Excel

• Understanding of public policy and regulatory requirements

Salary: $150,000

Work Schedule: A hybrid model with the expectation to work physically in our office Tuesdays and Wednesdays as mandatory in-office days with a third in-office day at your discretion, in coordination with your supervisor and in accordance with the business needs of your department. This schedule may be subject to change in GNYHA’s sole discretion. This is a full-time position.
