Position: Full-Time Nanny (Live-Out)

About the Family

A loving private family based in Tribeca, NY is seeking a proactive, caring, and energetic full-time nanny for their almost 3-year-old son. The family has had the same nanny since his birth and values long-term stability and strong communication. Their son is bright, curious, active, and enjoys exploring, testing boundaries, and learning through doing. The ideal nanny will balance warmth with structure, encouraging independence while setting clear and consistent limits.

The child attends school five mornings per week (8:00 am–12:15 pm). Parents are actively involved and take him to school each day. The household is supported with cleaning staff, food delivery, dry cleaning service, and package delivery, so the nanny’s focus will be primarily on the child and maintaining his daily rhythm.

The family also spends weekends in Norwalk, CT. A car is provided to bring the nanny, and occasional weekend travel with the family may be requested.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a healthy breakfast for the child and help with morning routine

• School drop-off/pick-up (parents handle drop-off, nanny handles pick-up at 12:15 pm)

• Plan and engage in developmentally appropriate activities (arts & crafts, outdoor play, playdates, classes, etc.)

• Encourage independence while ensuring safety (child is very active and quick-moving)

• Provide consistent structure and discipline—able to be loving while also assertive and in charge

• Keep child-focused areas tidy and organized (laundry, toys, bedroom, common areas)

• Light household support (occasional grocery shopping, meal prep/healthy cooking welcomed)

• Maintain open communication with parents regarding child’s day, milestones, and needs

• Uphold family rules (no screen time, respecting parents’ work hours, etc.)

Ideal Candidate & Personality

The family is seeking a nanny who is:

• Warm, nurturing, and playful, yet confident in setting boundaries

• High-energy and able to keep up with a very active preschooler

• Assertive, able to maintain authority without relying on parents as backup

• Organized, proactive, and able to take initiative without needing direction

• A strong communicator with a positive, “can-do” attitude

• Flexible and social, able to coordinate playdates and activities

• Neat and tidy, with a focus on maintaining order in the child’s environment

• Comfortable with cooking/meal prep and maintaining a healthy food routine

• Spanish-speaking or bilingual preferred, but not required

Requirements

• Prior experience as a nanny for toddlers in a private household

• Excellent references from past families

• Legal to work in the United States (family will pay on the books)

• Up-to-date CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)

• Comfortable with occasional weekend travel to Connecticut

• Strong commitment to safety, communication, and child development

Compensation & Benefits:

• Competitive hourly rate (commensurate with experience)
