Pharmacist for an overnight hospital assignment in Flushing, NY.
Rotating Weekends
Position Overview:
The Overnight Pharmacist is responsible for ensuring the safe, accurate, and timely dispensing of medications in a hospital setting. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently during overnight hours.
Position Details:
- Location: Flushing, NY
- Shift: Overnight, including rotating weekends
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, verify, and interpret physician medication orders for accuracy and appropriateness
- Dispense medications in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory guidelines
- Monitor patient drug therapies and provide clinical interventions when necessary
- Consult with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy
- Ensure compliance with all state, federal, and hospital regulations
- Supervise and support pharmacy technicians as needed
- Manage and resolve medication-related issues during overnight shifts
Requirements:
- Active NY State Pharmacist license in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong knowledge of clinical pharmacology and hospital pharmacy operations
- Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
