CNC Machinist
$28–$38 per hour (negotiable based on experience) Job Summary:
Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes to produce precision machined parts while ensuring quality, accuracy, and adherence to blueprints, work orders, and production standards. Job Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts.
- Plan machining processes by reviewing work orders, blueprints, and material stock.
- Program lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points and offsets.
- Calculate machining requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; prove part programs.
- Set up lathes by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers.
- Load material and verify machine settings by measuring first-run and sample parts.
- Maintain specifications by monitoring cutting, drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing operations.
- Troubleshoot machining processes by adjusting offsets and controls and replacing or sharpening worn tools.
- Follow quality assurance procedures and address preventive maintenance needs, troubleshooting malfunctions and requesting repairs when needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating CNC lathes.
- Technical school or CNC-related training preferred.
- Experience with Tsugami or similar machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of G and M Code programming.
- Strong attention to detail and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with tooling setup and machining calculations.
