Position Overview :

Inversion Labs is seeking a visionary and hands-on Head of Engineering to lead the technical execution and infrastructure buildout behind Inversion’s Avalanche Layer-1 ecosystem, including relevant applications and products, user activity and management, and beyond. Working closely with the Head of Product, the Head of Engineering will architect, implement, and scale the Inversion ecosystem, purpose-built for the real-world user that Inversion ‘acquires’ on-chain through its private equity strategy.

This role will focus on key initiatives:

• Custom Avalanche-Based L1 Development: Leading the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and sovereign blockchain infrastructure to support Inversion’s user acquisition strategy.
• Application Development and Usage Management: In partnership with the Head of Product, building and scaling the Inversion mobile wallet app, ensuring seamless onboarding experience and front-end, integrated seamlessly to decentralized on-chain back end, hosting products with the frictionlessness and UX of Nubank or Robinhood.
• Blockchain Infrastructure Deployment: Oversight and connectivity with teams responsible for blockchain infrastructure deployment and integration within the portfolio companies (e.g., Helium Network deployment and migration within an acquired mobile company).
  
  

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-caliber engineering team, selecting and integrating core technologies, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of on-chain systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Technical Architecture & Execution: Own the end-to-end technical architecture and ensure the scalable and secure implementation of blockchain infrastructure across Inversion’s portfolio companies.
• Engineering Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing engineering team responsible for core infrastructure, protocol integrations, and on-chain applications.
• Blockchain Implementation: Coordinate with the blockchain “rip and replace” strategy, ensuring the integration of blockchain into legacy systems with minimal disruption and maximal efficiency.
• On-Chain User Experience: Spearhead the design and development of on-chain user applications that offer seamless onboarding experiences, connect to Inversion’s proprietary blockchain, and facilitate the adoption of new products.
• Collaboration with Core Product Team: Work closely with the product team to develop and execute the product strategy with a focus on integrating and scaling decentralized solutions for acquired users.
• Market Insights & Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends, ensuring that Inversion’s product offerings are innovative, competitive, and aligned with the needs of both users and the blockchain ecosystem.
• Security & Reliability: Ensure systems meet the highest security standards through rigorous auditing, formal verification, and continuous monitoring. Implement DevOps and CI/CD best practices to support uptime, resilience, and deployment velocity.
• KPIs & Performance Metrics: Define key product success metrics and ensure continuous tracking, reporting, and improvement.
  
  

Qualifications :

• Proven experience as a Head of Engineering, Engineering Manager, or similar role at a fintech or blockchain company.
• Strong systems thinking skills and the ability to see and connect the full technical picture.
• Proven ability to scale engineering teams and ship secure, production-grade systems in high-stakes environments.
• Familiarity with stablecoin ecosystems, digital wallets, and tokenomics.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
• Comfortable navigating both startup speed and enterprise-grade complexity; can lead greenfield development and legacy modernization.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and ability to foster a culture of technical excellence, speed, and accountability.
• A passion for the intersection of blockchain technology and real-world business applications.
