Mid/Senior Frontend Engineer (React)
About the role
You will be joining a newly formed web development team dedicated to building our web application framework from scratch. Leveraging your expertise in React, Next.js or comparable frameworks, and Tailwind CSS or similar styling solutions , you will design and implement scalable, high-performance web solutions. As a leader, you will play a crucial role in making key technical decisions and will help establish best practices and set the foundation for a robust and efficient development workflow.
Responsibilities
- Architect and Develop: Design and build the foundational web application framework using React, Next.js or similar frameworks, and Tailwind CSS or equivalent .
- Technical Leadership: Make critical decisions regarding package management, bundling strategies, application architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Code Quality: Ensure high standards of code quality, maintainability, and performance through best practices and code reviews.
- Collaboration: Work closely with our CEO (who is also our designer!), key stakeholders, and product managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Scalability: Build systems that are scalable, efficient, and robust to support rapid growth and evolving product needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve the development process and product offerings.
- Mentorship: As the team grows, mentor and guide new frontend developers to foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional experience in frontend development.
- Proven experience with React, Next.js or similar frameworks, and Tailwind CSS or equivalent styling tools .
- Experience building web applications from scratch in a startup or high-growth environment is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+) and TypeScript.
- Proficiency in state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand).
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices.
- Familiarity with package management and module bundlers (e.g., npm, Yarn, Webpack, Vite).
Nice to Haves
- Experience with Flutter and Dart.
- Experience working in a fast-growing start-up
- You embrace AI: Experience with Cursor, V0, Github Copilot
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with AWS or other cloud services.
- Experience working in the brokerage or financial services industry.environments.

Job Notes
- This is a hybrid role and ask that you come to the NYC office 3 or more times a week.
