AI Forecasting Analyst

Overview

AI Forecasting Analyst sought to join a global intelligence and advisory firm in New York.

The forecasting team works with a community of business and government leaders built around the delivery and exchange of unique intelligence and forecasts on the most market-moving geopolitical and economic issues including;

• AI and energy: Will power infrastructure scale fast enough to meet AI demand?
• Semiconductor supply: Where are the binding constraints across fabrication, packaging, and memory?
• Compute efficiency: What token-efficiency gains will hardware and software deliver over the next three years?
• AI and white-collar labor: How many white-collar jobs will AI displace across 20+ sectors?
• AI and blue-collar labor: How far and how fast will robotics displace physical labor?
• AI policy: What is the likely shape and timing of labor, safety, and fiscal AI regulation in the US?
• Cyber: How will AI shift the balance between attackers and private-sector defenders?

Key Responsibilities

In this role, the analyst will own forecasts end to end—from research and methodology through to the client briefing. Day to day, that means:

• Researching, building, and presenting scenario-based, time-bounded forecasts on the questions that matter most to clients.
• Working within and advancing the firm’s proprietary scenario-generation methodology.
• Consulting with experts across the full spectrum of the field, from frontier AI developers and academics to industry practitioners and former technology-policy leaders.
• Tracking developments across a wide range of data sources to keep forecasts current.
• Translating those forecasts into direct client impact, and briefing senior executives on the company’s findings.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

This is an early- to mid-career position. Ideal candidates will have completed an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Candidates must have:

• Prior internship, professional, or academic experience in technology, policy, sell-side research, consulting, risk analysis, government, or international business.
• Demonstrated experience or distinctive expertise in at least one of the following:
  • AI capabilities: a working understanding of how frontier models are actually advancing, from algorithmic progress to scaling dynamics
  • AI or technology policy
  • Critical technology supply chains (semiconductors, power infrastructure)
  • Quantum computing
  • Sovereign and international AI (Europe, the Middle East, and beyond)
  • China’s AI strategy (models, compute, and industrial policy)
  • Robotics

• A strong academic record (minimum GPA of 3.5 in college and/or graduate school).
• A proven capacity to research, write, and present complex material
• Superior communication and oral/written presentation skills
• A personal and professional history that reflects honesty, discipline, initiative, creativity, and a powerful intellect.
• Exposure to equity research or financial analysis—through coursework or work experience—is a bonus, though not a requirement.
