ICU RN Job Details – Rochester, NY

• Location: Rochester, NY 14642 (New York healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Level II RN ICU Stepdown Unit – Neurosurgery
• Position Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 29, 2025
• End Date: January 24, 2026
• Contract Length: 17 weeks
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2200-$2260
• Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (days, evenings, nights), including weekends and holidays
• Shifts per Week: 4
• Hours per Week: 36

ICU Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (NY RN license required)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU stepdown, progressive care (PCU), or critical care nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association required)
• Demonstrated experience in high acuity stroke and neurosurgery patient care
• Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proficient in neuro checks (Q1), EVDs, lumbar drains, sub-dural drains, 3% NS and cardene drips, arterial lines, carotid endarterectomy, aneurysm coil/clips, DBS insertion, VP shunts, and seizure management
• Commitment to full contract duration

ICU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a Level II ICU stepdown neurosurgical unit
• Perform advanced neurological assessments and manage complex neurosurgical interventions
• Monitor and interpret telemetry data; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Serve as charge nurse, preceptor, or participate in hospital committees as needed
• Engage in ongoing professional development and uphold standards of service excellence
