Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers. We are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York. We are a multi-specialty healthcare provider caring for our community through Primary and Specialty Medical Care, Dental, Behavioral Health, Audiology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Language Pathology. We currently provide care to over 7,000 patients and have an annual operating revenue of $22m.

About the Role:
The Dental Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a dental practice by managing patient interactions and administrative tasks. This position is responsible for coordinating appointments, handling patient inquiries, and maintaining accurate patient records, which are essential for providing high-quality dental care. The Dental Coordinator also collaborates with dental staff to streamline processes and improve patient flow, ultimately enhancing the overall patient experience. By effectively managing the front office operations, the Dental Coordinator contributes to the practice's efficiency and success. This role requires a blend of organizational skills, customer service, and knowledge of dental procedures to support both patients and the dental team.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a dental or healthcare administrative role.
- Proficiency in using dental practice management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in dental assisting or dental office management.
- Experience with insurance verification and billing processes.
- Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments while managing the dental practice's calendar.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide information regarding dental services, insurance, and billing.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including treatment histories and insurance information.
- Assist in the coordination of dental procedures and ensure that all necessary materials and equipment are prepared.
- Collaborate with dental staff to improve office processes and enhance patient satisfaction.
Skills:
The required skills for this position include strong organizational abilities, which are essential for managing multiple tasks and maintaining an efficient schedule. Excellent communication skills are vital for interacting with patients and addressing their concerns effectively. Attention to detail is necessary for accurately maintaining patient records and ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. Preferred skills, such as knowledge of dental terminology, enhance the ability to assist patients and staff with specific inquiries. Additionally, proficiency in dental software aids in streamlining administrative tasks, allowing the Dental Coordinator to focus on improving patient care and office efficiency.
