Product manager
We are looking for a Product (Sales) Manager for Precision Components. In this exciting role, you will focus on business development, securing and maintaining regional and global accounts. Location: South USA (Florida, Georgia, Texas, Alabama region) Looking for opportunities with a global, industry leader? Oerlikon Balzers is the leading global supplier of PVD coatings and other surface technologies that significantly improve the performance of precision components as well as metalworking and plastics processing tools. The Product Manager oversees the development and execution of sales and marketing initiatives to maximize revenue for an assigned product within a specific segment of the Balzers business. This role includes identifying potential customers through lead generation activities such as prospecting, open houses, existing client engagement, and participation in trade shows. Additionally, the Product Manager builds consultative relationships with customers to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Working within the sales and marketing framework, this position is responsible for creating strategies for the assigned product and segment, informed by thorough research and analysis. Your Responsibilities- Identify and drive new opportunities with potential customers as well as penetrate existing industries within the assigned market segment to grow Balzers' products and services. Key focus markets; Medical, Aerospace, Defense, Motorsports, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, General Engineering, and others.
- Negotiate and close sales opportunities in a timely manner with a focus on servicing the customer's needs while generating profitable and long-term business relationships
- Manage the designated Salesforce tool to forecast short/long term sales potential
- Provide project leadership as necessary to facilitate the acquisition of business and successful delivery customer requirements.
- Drive market segment development and product penetration using analytics and experience.
- Work within existing sales/marketing structure to facilitate segment growth, communication, and facilitate customer resolution as necessary.
- Maintain a high morale with all management and production personnel.
- Maintain respectful, prompt, and concise communication with customers.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable team in recovering outstanding payments.
- Must be able to engage and handle stressful situations with clear thinking and professionalism
- Must be able to resolve conflicts quickly and maintain a high worker morale
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering or related discipline required (equivalent experience may substitute). MBA preferred.
- Experience selling industrial services or products to at least two (2) additional market segments: Aerospace, Defense, Energy (Power Generation, Oil & Gas), Medical, Motorsports, Industrial Engineering, Hydrogen Fuel Cell, etc.
- Experience selling PVD (physical vapor deposition) services, and/or surface treatments industry is preferred.
- Knowledge and networking within manufacturing industries is a real asset.
- Strong proficiency developing segment, product, market analysis, competitive intelligence, and sales forecasts
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
- Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint is a must.
- Ability to understand and interpret technical requirements (i.e., technical drawings, prints, etc.)
