This role requires strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to operate in a fast-moving environment with multiple revenue streams and variable partner commissions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and comfortable working cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and Legal teams.
Essential Duties:
Month-End and Period-End Close
· Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
· Prepare and post journal entries for payroll, accruals, D&A, and intercompany eliminations.
· Manage closing checklist compliance and proactively resolve variances before reporting deadlines.
· Prepare and reconcile prepaid, accrual, and deferred revenue balances.
Payroll and Employee-Related Accounting
· Administer payroll; ensure timely funding and posting to the GL.
· Record payroll-related journal entries
· Support deferred compensation schedules and bonus accruals.
Commissions, Settlements, and Partner Payments
· Calculate and reconcile commission and revenue-share payments to parking operators and channel partners.
· Validate enforcement and transaction-fee data against system-generated reports
· Maintain audit-ready documentation supporting each settlement and partner remittance.
· Collaborate with Operations to track contract terms, fee splits, and percentage-based payouts.
General Ledger Integrity and Reconciliations
· Prepare and review reconciliations for all significant balance sheet and P&L accounts.
· Maintain detailed rollforwards for intangibles, software development costs, and fixed assets.
Financial Reporting and Compliance
· Support preparation of internal financial packages and board-level reports.
· Coordinate annual audit deliverables and serve as the primary contact for external auditors and advisors.
· Partner with tax advisors to ensure compliance with US federal, state, and local filings.
· Support deferred tax and R&D credit calculations in collaboration with external specialists.
Policy, Controls, and Process Improvement
· Develop and maintain accounting policies compliant with US GAAP.
· Strengthen internal controls around cash management, settlements, and revenue recognition.
· Assist in process automation and system optimization projects (e.g., Power BI, NetSuite).
· Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation across all entities and accounts.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Work closely with the CFO and FP&A to reconcile financial data with forecasts, KPIs, and performance dashboards.
· Collaborate with Operations and Legal to ensure alignment between contracts, billing, and accounting.
· Partner with the Technology team on data validation for enforcement transactions and SaaS usage metrics.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/ACCA is a must; ex-big 4.
· 12-20 years of progressive accounting experience, including controller or assistant controller roles, preferably with PE-backed companies.
· Strong command of GAAP, internal controls, and multi-entity consolidations.
· Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
· Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
Skills and Job-Specific Competencies:
· Proactive, solution-oriented, and self-directed.
· Rigorous in reconciliations and process adherence.
· Strong understanding of accrual accounting, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and multi-entity consolidations.
· Comfortable working with large transaction volumes and hybrid service models (enforcement + SaaS).
· Able to partner effectively across departments and manage external relationships.
