The Shubert Organization is America’s oldest professional theatre company and the largest theatre owner on Broadway. Since the dawn of the 20th century, Shubert has operated hundreds of theatres and produced hundreds of plays and musicals both in New York City and throughout the United States. Shubert currently owns and operates 17 Broadway theatres, six off-Broadway venues, and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia.
Shubert delivers innovative ticketing solutions via its Telecharge, API distribution, and private-label technology, offering unparalleled distribution and marketing to the theatre industry and beyond. Its consumer-facing brands—Telecharge for retail ticket sales and Broadway Inbound, tour operators, and the travel industry—sell millions of tickets each year.
JOB TITLE: Staff Accountant
SALARY: $65,000-$70,000, depending upon experience and skills.
SCHEDULED HOURS: Monday through Friday, 9:30am – 5:30pm, with paid overtime as required including weekends during our fiscal year end in June/July.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Job responsibilities/functions to include, but not be limited to:
• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Conduct investment portfolio analysis
• Perform weekly payroll audits
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements
• Conduct inventory control analysis
• Prepare bank reconciliations
• Assist with corporate tax provision support
• Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
• Familiarity with general accounting theory (tax, fixed assets, general ledger, etc.)
• Strong analytical skills
• Superior communications (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• PC skills (Excel and Word)
QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:
• 1-2 years’ experience in general ledger accounting
• Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP
