Event Bartender

Position Summary

Event Bartenders at the Wythe Hotel are central to shaping the atmosphere, energy, and guest experience at every event. Event Bartenders represent the Wythe Hotel’s beverage program with professionalism, warmth, and technical precision. Delivering gracious, technically excellent cocktail service, along with, warm, confident hospitality, and seamless bar operations.

Bartenders are responsible for setting up and maintaining a pristine bar environment, batching and preparing specialty cocktails, guiding guests through beverage selections, and accurately reporting all beverage service in the POS.

This role demands a high level of product knowledge, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and the talent to balance efficiency with genuine hospitality.

Event Bartenders work across all event spaces and collaborate closely with Event Supervisors and the building F&B team to deliver elevated beverage service that aligns with the hotel’s standards.

Job Responsibilities / Essential Functions

• Understand beverage expectations, bar package level, specialty offerings, and cocktail pass timelines.
• Pull all required wine, spirits, beer, mixers, and specialty cocktail batches while maintaining accurate counts on pull sheets.
• Batch cocktails according to established recipes and guidelines.
• Prepare garnishes, complete mise-en-place, and ensure all bar tools are accounted for.
• Ensure the bar is fully set and ready before the first guest arrival; alert a supervisor immediately if delays arise.
• Maintain a polished and calm demeanor behind the bar, even during high-volume service.
• Assist with watering and wining tables during quieter moments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and dry bar throughout service.
• Keep meticulous track of all beverages served; update Toast POS throughout the event or record tallies and input promptly when available.
• Ensure accurate accounting for beverages, particularly during multiple overlapping events.
• Follow policies regarding leftovers, ensuring unfinished bottles are returned.
• Maintain responsible alcohol service at all times, following New York State laws:

• • Never serve minors or visibly intoxicated guests.
  • Monitor guest consumption and escalate concerns promptly.
  • Encourage water, NA options, and food when appropriate.

Position Skills & Requirements

• 3+ years of bartending experience in high-volume, craft cocktail, or luxury hospitality environments.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktail techniques, batching, and beverage mise-en-place.
• Ability to deliver consistent, technically sound cocktails under pressure.
• Experience using POS systems, preferably Toast.
• Excellent communication skills and confident, warm guest interaction.
  Ability to remain calm, focused, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to lift at least 25 lbs and work a full shift on your feet (often 8+ hours).
• Team-oriented mindset with a positive attitude and eagerness to support colleagues.
