General Summary
The HVAC Inventory Clerk is responsible for managing and maintaining accurate inventory records for HVAC parts and equipment within the organization. Reporting to the Preventative Maintenance Supervisor, this role supports the HVAC department by overseeing the reception, storage, and distribution of HVAC-related materials. The HVAC Inventory Clerk ensures precise inventory management to facilitate timely access to parts while providing reports and data necessary for effective decision-making.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain and update accurate inventory records for HVAC parts in the inventory management system.
- Conduct regular stock counts to reconcile physical HVAC inventory with database records.
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming HVAC shipments, ensuring accuracy in documentation and reporting discrepancies.
- Organize, label, and store HVAC parts for efficient identification and retrieval, ensuring compliance with safety and storage protocols.
- Generate and distribute inventory reports related to HVAC parts to management and other departments as required.
- Provide training and support to team members and co-workers on inventory management procedures specific to HVAC parts.
- Collaborate with HVAC service technicians and project managers to ensure timely availability of parts and materials needed for service calls and installations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Inventory Supervisor or Management.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements
- Must be able to pass a background check and any required security clearances.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in HVAC technology, logistics, or inventory management is preferred.
- Previous experience managing inventory in HVAC or related fields preferred.
- Proficient in using inventory management software such as CMMS or Maximo and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Demonstrates problem-solving capabilities and effective decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Familiarity with HVAC parts nomenclature and specifications is a plus.
Physical, Environmental, and Sensory Requirements
- Work environment is primarily a warehouse and office setting with exposure to HVAC parts and equipment.
- Physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, and lifting items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Occasional bending and reaching may be required.
- Limited exposure to elements such as heat, cold, and dust typical of HVAC warehouses, but not to an uncomfortable degree.
