SVP, Research Analyst Emerging Markets Core Equity

Position: SVP, Research Analyst Emerging Markets Core Equity for Lazard Asset Management LLC (New York, NY) DUTIES: Research Analyst on the Asia ex-Japan Equity and Emerging Markets Core Equity teams, focusing primarily on emerging markets investments in Asia in the healthcare and consumer sectors. Day-to-day duties include: Provide primary research of various industries using advanced statistical and quantitative techniques as well as financial analysis and modeling of companies under coverage and investment recommendations within the Emerging Markets Core Equity group. Interact with senior management of companies being analysed, attend/cover company meetings run by other analysts and provide feedback to the team on issues such as valuations or data. Responsible for primary research among industry contacts and customers and suppliers and competitors of the companies being researched. Research and monitor political and macroeconomic data as they impact investments in the portfolio. Quantify the risk/reward and timeliness of investment ideas using advanced finance, statistical, and analytical models. Analyze sector, currency and regulatory risks where applicable. REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Bachelors degree in Business, Finance or a related field and six (6) years of investment analysis experience focusing on emerging market macro and/or healthcare equities. Experience must include six (6) years of experience in each of the following: Financial modeling, company and discounted cash flow valuation, specifically macro and/or healthcare equities; Analyzing macro/industry trends, such as macroprudential issues in China (including political, regulatory, fiscal, economic issues), competition and risks in the healthcare sector across Asia; Constructing highly complex financial models and performing valuation analyses, including value creation and scenario planning, discounted cash flow, sum of parts, business combination/separation, comparable companies, and precedent transactions analyses; Creating fundamental and relative valuation models to value both private and public healthcare companies across emerging and developed markets in Asia, including China, based on various financial ratios and valuation components; Experience with Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, and programming tools including VBA, Python for financial modeling. Telework permissible within commuting distance. 10% international travel to visit emerging markets countries.
