WE’RE HIRING A FULL TIME PASTRY PRODUCTION ASSISTANT The primary role of the Pastry Assistant is to produce dessert items for dinner service and events. The Pastry Assistant will work closely to support the Executive Pastry Chef in all aspects of production, stocking and organizing, and recipe development.

We’re looking for a team player who leads by example and takes initiative. The ideal candidate is self motivated; committed to exceeding personal standards of growth and performance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various dessert items for The Tavern menu and Feasts according to department standards in a time efficient manner.
• Follow recipes, portioning, and presentation standards as directed by the Chef and Pastry Chef.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of work station and food storage facilities.
• Correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
• Set up workstation with tools, equipment, and supplies, restocking items as needed.
• Monitor product quality and report any inconsistencies or shortages to a manager.
• Maintain proper storage, labeling, and rotation of all ingredients and products.
• Communicate when ingredients and products need to be ordered.
• Complete daily inventory sheet and prioritize production projects throughout the shift.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic cooking and baking techniques, ice cream experience is a plus.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
• 1+ years of professional kitchen or bakery experience preferred, but not required.
• Availability to work daytime hours (approx. 9am-5pm) and weekends.
