Duties Description As a Trades General you will perform journey-level work in one trade and skilled and semi-skilled level work in a combination of other trades in the repair and maintenance of facilities and equipment. You may supervise others in maintenance, repair, installation and construction activities.Job Requirements: - Working knowledge of methods, material, tools and equipment used in the craft or crafts to which assigned. - Working knowledge of applicable standards and plumbing and electrical code regulations. - Working knowledge of the rules and regulations of the facility governing the activities of State wards. - Ability to use the tools, machines, equipment and material of the craft or crafts to which assigned. - Ability to train and supervise others. - Ability to plan and lay out work and diagnose problems. - Ability to read and interpret plans, diagrams, architectural blueprints and specifications. - Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.Duties include perform in one or more trades:- Mechanical (HVAC), carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, masonry, locksmith- Provide field supervision to staff whose duties include facility maintenance and construction.- Follow written and verbal instructions, project plans, and schedules.- Possess working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment used.- Work independently as needed, Perform moderate to heavy manual labor.- May climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms, and in confined spaces.- Demonstrate the ability to adhere to OSHA safety standards.Strong Plumbing background/experience required.

Minimum Qualifications Four (4) years of full-time experience in a trade under a skilled journeyman which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship program. Apprentice training in a trade, or training gained by the completion of technical courses in a trade at a school or institute, may be substituted for the above experience on a year-for-year basis.Dependent on Experience, candidate will be required to attend the national Locksmith Institute training in Albany, NY from 5/4/26-5/8/26.
