Commercial Surety Claims Specialist
Woods & Co Recruitment is partnered with a leading surety MGA, ranked among the top 5 in the U.S. and writing close to $100M in surety premium annually. With nearly a decade in the market, the firm continues to invest in its claims and legal function as part of its long-term strategy.
They are currently looking to onboard a Commercial Surety Claims Counsel.

What you’ll do:
- Manage commercial surety claims from notice through resolution
- Analyze bond language, indemnity agreements, and legal exposure
- Coordinate with underwriting teams and external counsel
- Handle negotiations, settlements, and litigation strategy
- Provide legal guidance to underwriting partners
What we’re looking for:
- Experience handling commercial surety claims
- JD required; bar admission preferred
- Strong knowledge of surety law and bond obligations
- Ability to manage complex claims independently
