Setting: Travel nursing assignment in a 64-bed MS Stroke Stepdown unit within an acute care clinical environment

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adults on a Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit, including neurological and medical management.
- Monitor neuro status, administer medications, and utilize IV pumps and feeding tubes as needed.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team; implement stroke protocols and safety precautions; respond to changes in patient condition.
- Document assessments, interventions, and progress in EPIC; participate in daily rounds and discharge planning.
- Support patients and families through education on diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Maintain unit-specific responsibilities, including isolation precautions and device management as required; float to other units when needed.

Requirements
- Active New York RN license (verification of NY license and any additional active RN licenses)
- Current AHA BLS certification
- NIHSS certification or ability to obtain prior to start (required for this unit)
- 2+ years of Med Surg experience with stroke/stepdown exposure; travel experience strongly preferred
- EMR experience with EPIC
- Valid driver’s license with address that matches demographics
- Up-to-date resume with documentation of travel experience and stroke-related MS skills
- RTO (time-off) request must be included at submission
- Education: RN degree from an approved nursing program (ADN, BSN, or equivalent)
