Training & Development Manager

Location: New York, New York

The Opportunity

At the Academy for Hospitality Arts (AHA), we believe that world-class training does more than just polish service—it changes lives. We are looking for a Training and Development Manager in the New York Metro market who understands that behind every "service standard" is a person looking for the skills, confidence, and path to a thriving career.

In this role, you are more than an instructor; you are a mentor and a catalyst for growth. You will partner with a diverse range of hospitality clients—from luxury boutiques to corporate leaders—to design and deliver transformative learning experiences. Your mission is to empower professionals at every level, giving them the tools to take pride in their craft and the foundation to build a better future for themselves and their families. If you believe that education is the ultimate key to unlocking human potential, we want you to lead our mission.

Key Responsibilities

1. Architect of Empowerment (Curriculum & Design)
  • Purpose-Driven Content: Create training manuals, multimedia tools, and evaluation procedures that don't just teach "how" to serve, but "why" it matters, fostering a deep sense of professional pride.

  • Inclusive Innovation: Design curriculum that is accessible and inspiring for a diverse workforce, ensuring every learner—regardless of their starting point—has a clear path to excellence.

  • Strategic Growth: Align training programs with client goals to ensure that as their business grows, their people grow with them.

2. Inspiring Growth in the Field (Facilitation & Leadership)

  • Hands-on Mentorship: Travel to client locations to lead high-energy, empathetic training sessions that bridge the gap between theory and the daily realities of hospitality.

  • Logistical Excellence: Manage the end-to-end details of our programs with precision, ensuring that the environment is always set up for our learners to succeed.

  • Operational Auditing: Visit client sites to identify untapped potential and design customized roadmaps that elevate both the guest experience and the employee journey.

3. Building a Community of Excellence (Growth & Engagement)

  • Advocacy & Networking: Serve as a passionate ambassador for AHA at industry events, advocating for the importance of workplace development and human-centric service.

  • Collaborative Insight: Work with our marketing and sales teams to tell the story of the lives changed through our programs, helping us reach more organizations that value their people.

  • Continuous Improvement: Listen deeply to participant feedback to ensure our programs remain life-changing and effective.

Who You Are

  • A Champion for People: You aren't just a trainer; you are a coach who finds genuine joy in watching others succeed. You believe that hospitality is a noble profession and that every worker deserves the dignity of expert training.

  • An Expert Storyteller: You have 3+ years of experience in high-end hospitality and the ability to translate that expertise into stories and lessons that resonate.

  • A Creative Visionary: You love the challenge of taking complex ideas and turning them into engaging, easy-to-understand educational materials.

  • A Driven Professional: You are organized, tech-savvy (Microsoft Office), and ready to manage multiple client projects with a spirit of service.

Requirements

  • Education: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years in hospitality training/management with a proven track record of developing others.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel locally/regionally to meet our learners where they are.

Why You’ll Love It Here

  • Health & Security: Comprehensive medical/dental/vision and a 401k with a 5% match.

  • Balance & Wellness: A hybrid schedule (Fridays remote) and a PTO package that grows with your commitment to our mission.

  • Your Own Growth: We invest in you. Enjoy 100% employer-sponsored associations, annual retreats, and a supportive, family-oriented culture that celebrates your wins as much as our own.
