Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician I

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client is seeking an Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician I to support manufacturing and quality operations. This hands-on technical role focuses on inspection, measurement, quality assurance, and production support within a manufacturing environment.

Type: Contract

Job Title: Eng. Multi-Discipline Technician I

Location: Corning, NY

Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Corning, NY

Pay Rate: Based on experience

Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm

Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, Quality Assurance, or a related technical discipline preferred. Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspections and dimensional measurements on incoming materials and manufactured components

  • Verify compliance with engineering specifications, SOPs, and quality standards

  • Identify and document non-conforming materials or process deviations

  • Support production quality control activities and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Maintain inspection records and quality documentation

  • Calibrate and maintain measurement and inspection equipment

  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve issues

  • Promote and support workplace safety standards and procedures

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and SOPs

  • Experience using hand measurement tools and inspection equipment

  • Strong understanding of quality control processes and manufacturing practices

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing or industrial experience

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication and welding processes

  • Experience with metrology tools such as CMMs, vision systems, or 3D scanning

  • Familiarity with SolidWorks or other CAD software
