PROGRAMMER

Analysis, design, coding, component and assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team- Maintenance (including production support), enhancement and development work- Write application software, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be responsible for all phases of the System Development Life Cycle for a multi-tiered complex system. The responsibilities will include both new development as well as maintenance tasks. Specific tasks will included:

• Responsible for assisting with the technical design for new development and system enhancements.
• Responsible for coordinating the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Presentations of technical solutions to management and technical support areas.
• Responsible for implementing technical solutions.
• Assisting with requirements gathering sessions.
• Leading the analysis of requirements and system design work.
• Development of technical design documents and program specifications.
• Coding, unit and integration testing of programming assignments.
• Writing and tuning SQL
• Technical Support of user testing efforts.
• Performance tuning of new and existing applications.
• Production support tasks including analysis of issues, propose and implement solutions.
• Mentoring of less experienced staff would be required.
• The candidate must be able to work in a fast paced environment where legislative changes must be quickly implemented.

Required Skills

• At least 7 years experience with J2EE technologies including EJB, JDBC, JSP and XML.
• At least 7 years demonstrated experience with Java programming in an IBM development environment using IDE of IBM's Rational Application Developer (RAD) that are deployed to Websphere Application Server ( WAS).
• At least 7 years of IBM DB2 experience working with large DB2 databases and experience with XML schemas (definition, querying and automated generation).
• At least 5 years demonstrated experience in performance tuning applications interacting with large scale databases.
• At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in IBM MQSeries
• At least 5 years experience with a large organization, which includes business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance and end user support of complex system.
