Job Title: X-Ray Technician
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 9-Week Contract
Schedule: Day Shift – 5x8-Hour Shifts
Guaranteed Hours: 37.5 Hours Weekly
Compensation:
- Weekly Gross Pay: $2,250 – $3,000 (based on experience and eligibility)
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled X-Ray Technician to provide high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will perform radiographic examinations, ensure patient comfort and safety, maintain imaging quality standards, and collaborate with healthcare professionals to support accurate diagnoses and positive patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-ray procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare patients for radiologic examinations by explaining procedures and addressing questions or concerns.
- Position patients appropriately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Operate radiologic imaging equipment safely and effectively.
- Utilize radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Follow infection prevention and safety protocols at all times.
- Review radiographic images for quality and accuracy and make adjustments as necessary.
- Process, document, and maintain imaging records according to facility standards.
- Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs promptly.
- Maintain inventory of imaging supplies and ensure equipment readiness.
- Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care.
- Participate in departmental quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology required.
Licensure & Certifications
- Active New York State Licensed Radiologic Technologist (L.R.T.) required.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification required.
- Current New York State Department of Health Radiologic Technologist License required.
Experience
- Minimum six (6) months of X-Ray Technologist experience required.
- Experience performing diagnostic radiology procedures in a clinical or hospital setting preferred.
