Reports To: Store Manager and/or Assistant Store Manager
Status: Non-exempt
Function: The Senior Sales Associate will assist management in creating and sustaining a pleasant work environment and excellent customer relationships.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and sustaining a pleasant and hospitable work environment and excellent customer relationships.
- Be well-versed in and ensure compliance to accounting, employee, and store policies.
- Assist the manager in meeting sales, production, and expense budget goals maintaining a profitable operation.
- Receive applications and participate in interviewing applicants when needed.
- Ensure that all safety measures are consistent with The Salvation Army policy and Government regulations and all personnel comply.
- Assist in scheduling of sales associates and unpaid staff as required.
- Assist in completion of payroll information biweekly for all store personnel noting signatures, absenteeism, overtime, etc. Submit same as requested.
- Assist Manager and Assistant Manager to ensure that the store is well stocked, and all merchandise is “ragged out” and colorized in accordance with the ARC Command Rag Out Calendar.
- Assist in training, direction, and supervision for new employees and unpaid staff along with retraining for all personnel, as requested. Beneficiaries on work therapy assignments need special attention and guidance.
- Responsible for the proper accounting and banking of cash receipts as per “Safekeeping of Salvation Army Funds” policy.
- Ensure all paperwork and sales reports are filled out completely and forwarded to the finance department daily.
- Responsible for maintaining good customer relations recognizing the type of service expected from employees of The Salvation Army.
- Fill in for Store Manager/Assistant Store Manager as needed.
- Function as the 3rd Key, opening/closing the store as scheduled, including making bank deposits.

- This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.
- Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in sales.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license with acceptable DMV record.
- Ability to read and interpret simple income and expense reports.
- Good communication and supervisory skills.
